Creating Your First Editor Book
Learn how to obtain an Editor Book and use it to begin editing armour stands.
Creating Your First Editor Book
The Editor Book is the primary tool used to interact with HS Armour Stand Editor. Once you have an Editor Book, you can select armour stands and open the editor to begin making changes.
Obtaining an Editor Book
There are two ways to obtain an Editor Book, depending on how your server has been configured.
Method 1 - Using the Command
Players with the appropriate permission can obtain an Editor Book using:
/armorstand book
This immediately gives you a fully authenticated Editor Book.
Method 2 - Renaming a Book
If renamed books are enabled in config.yml, you can create an Editor Book by renaming a supported book in an anvil.
The required name is configured by your server administrator.
- Place a supported book into an anvil.
- Rename it to the configured Editor Book name.
- Take the renamed book out of the anvil.
As soon as the renamed book is taken from the anvil, HS Armour Stand Editor automatically converts it into an authenticated Editor Book.
The converted book receives the correct display name, lore, enchantment glint and the authentication data required for the plugin to recognise it.
Using the Editor Book
Once you have an Editor Book:
- Place it into your hotbar.
- Hold it in your main hand.
- Walk up to an armour stand.
- Select the armour stand.
- Open the editor.
How to Tell It's an Editor Book
A genuine Editor Book is automatically formatted by the plugin when it is created or converted.
If a renamed book has not been converted, it will behave like a normal Minecraft book until the plugin authenticates it.
Permissions
Creating an Editor Book using commands requires the appropriate permission node.
If your server uses renamed books, permission requirements are controlled by your server's configuration.
See the Permissions section of this documentation for more information.
